Yanni Gilbert

Bio

Yanni Gilbert started playing music aged 5 on the family piano. This progressed to the village Brass Band aged 9 and he then went on to School Orchestras, Choirs and Operatics before leaving school.
Yanni didn't really start playing electronic instruments until aged 21 when he formed a local band with a couple of friends. After a short while he turned pro as a session bass player & then got a pro band together with a recording deal. Major commercial success eluded him & so having played session bass on a number 13 UK chart hit, (Eddie & The Soul Band) played with bands supporting named artists, (Culture Club/U2/Joe Jackson) appeared with Cliff Richard and made various TV and radio appearances, Yanni quit music for an 'ordinary world'.
Having successfully worked as an Accountant and selling IT systems the music bug bit again.
From his own recording studio Yanni pursued songwriting. He signed publishing contracts with Songcastle Music in Los Angeles and Pump Audio in New York & continues to write & compose songs and music...
